About six months ago, I signed up for a subscription to MasterClass.com. The fee for the whole year was $180. I had heard of it before but didn’t really know anything about it. Looking for some self-improvement, I thought I’d give it a try.
The result: it has turned out to be one of the most inspiring experiences of my life.
For those of you who may be unfamiliar, MasterClass is a website (with an excellent, easy-to-use mobile app), where some of the world’s leading experts in their respective fields teach their own MasterClasses. The classes are usually a series of videos, ranging from about 8 minutes apiece to about 25 minutes at the longest. Every MasterClass also comes with a downloadable workbook at no extra cost.
MasterClass has something to offer everyone, whether you are passionate about writing, music, cooking, or fitness, among many other areas.
In his MasterClass, Neil Gaiman teaches me to write more, to have the courage to put my work out into the world and to break conventional norms.
Robin Arzon (Vice President of Fitness Education at Peloton), a former stressed-out New York lawyer who found her passion in fitness, teaches me to be resilient in the face of adversity and to conquer my fears.
RuPaul teaches me the importance of being authentic and being yourself no matter what anyone else thinks.
Consider giving MasterClass a shot. It might just change your life – for the better.
